Moon Tree Run and Firefighter's Fair
June 7th, 2014 The Moon Tree Run and Firefighter?s Fair will be held at the Illinois Valley Airport, 4 miles south of Cave Junction, OR. The Moon Tree Run is a 5K and 10K road and trail race that commemorates the Apollo 14 command module pilot and Siskiyou Smokejumper, Stuart Roosa, and the tree seeds that he carried with him to the moon and back, one of which was eventually planted at the Smokejumper base. The Firefighter?s Fair, a new event this year, will feature over 20 participating organizations with family friendly activities including remote control airplane and Jaws of Life demonstrations, a firefighter?s obstacle course, the Apollo 14 Golf Challenge, and many more! All-day Volunteer Firefighter?s Association breakfast starts at 8:00 and event ends at 2:00.
