SUMMARY:A Night of Oregon Films with Katherine Wilson
DESCRIPTION:Klamath Falls native\, Katherine Wilson attended the University of Oregon where she was discovered by director Mark Rydell for his film Cinderella Liberty. Mark brought her to Hollywood But Katherine wanted to continue as a filmmaker in Oregon\, and has worked ever since to create a film industry in the Northwest tradition. Her first major film as location scout and casting director was for the notorious Animal House. She provided these services for the next 40 years on many films\, including Stand by Me\, before working on screenplays and mentoring young filmmakers.\n\n\n\n\nNow Katherine Wilson has compiled an extraordinary book of films shot in Oregon\, as well as an in-depth view of how these films were and are made. Filled with close to 500 photographs of film artifacts\, from wardrobe sketches to call sheets\, and some rather encyclopedic items like images of crew badges and set cranes\, ECHOES FROM THE SET is more than a resource for film enthusiasts. It is a trove for those who love Oregon and indispensable for those dedicated to the art of Film. \n\n\n\nFor One Night only Oregon Books and Games is thrilled to announce Katherine Wilson will be having an evening of Filmmaker stories\, Q&A and book signing. Join us August 28th at 5:30PM for this delightful experience.
