SUMMARY:Employment Law Series 2018 ~ Succession Planning Continues
DESCRIPTION:Sean Ray\, a Partner at the law firm of Barran Liebman LLP\, will provide an overview of the employment laws relating to succession planning\, as well as practical tips for how to plan for the future without exposing your organization to liability.\n\n Even though approximately 10\,000 Americans retire each day\, there is an increasing number of employees opting to stay in the workforce longer than previously contemplated. In response\, employers need to be strategic in not just identifying job skills and institutional knowledge that must be preserved and passed-down\, but also in identifying and cultivating employees which they deem important to the continued success of their organizations.\n\n Relatedly\, everyone from the president of an organization down to the first level supervisors need to understand how state and federal age discrimination laws shape the way that they can and should have conversations with employees about their plans for retirement.\n\n This program will include legal applications\, practical advice\, hypothetical scenarios\, and time for Q&A.
