Paul Mastin who plays solo acoustic shows around Arizona was leaning more and more on Laura Hamlin to come sing harmonies\, play harmonica\, or acoustic song swap. Before too long the duo was being booked around Arizona but had no name\, so the bantering acoustic song swapping duo is The Pompous Beggars. Laura Hamlin is an extremely talented musician in her own right including her solo projects and her band\, The Salt River String Band. The Pompous Beggars have opened shows for acts including: Commander Cody\, Dallas Moore\, Cody Canada and the departed\, Hellbound Glory\, Mickey and the motorcars\,Jason Boland and the stragglers \,The Cole Trains\, Drew Cooper\, Jim Bachmann\, Justin Clyde Williams and many more.
