The designs will be provided by Playcraft Systems.\n\n \n\nThe Tom Pearce Playground was deemed unsafe during an inspection by a park ranger was closed by the Parks Department July 12\, 2019. The decommissioned playground has since been removed.\n\n \n\nThe Grants Pass Kiwanis\, the Josephine Parks and Recreation Foundation and the county Parks Department are working together to replace the playground. A new playground is estimated to cost about $150\,000\, but could easily cost more\, depending on the play structure and number of play activities. \n\n \n\nCurrently\, there are no dedicated funds in the Park Department's budget to replace the playground\; however\, fundraising efforts have begun to raise money for the build.
