DESCRIPTION:The Great Race is bringing 120 of the world's finest vintage cars to Downtown Grants Pass! The start is at the Mission Inn in downtown Riverside\, Calif on June 22nd.  The race will finish June 30th in Tacoma\, Wash. at LeMay - America's Car Museum overlooking the Puget Sound.\n\n\n\nRacers from around the world will start arriving at 5:00pm on Wednesday\, June 26th. Cheer them on as they compete in this $150\,000 event and join them for a  Street Party Downtown!\n\nJoin the fun downtown 5:00pm  8:00pm\n\nSW G Street (near Downtown Welcome Center)\n\n-Vintage Cars Arrive 1 Minute Apart!\n\n-Public Street Viewing\n\n\n\nCars built in 1974 and earlier are eligible\, with most entries having been manufactured before World War II.\n\n\n\nThe Great Race\, which began 36 years ago\, is not a speed race\, but a time/speed/distance rally.\n\n\n\nThe vehicles\, each with a driver and navigator\, are given precise instructions each day that detail every move down to the second.  They are scored at secret check points along the way and are penalized one point for each second either early or late.
