Antique Sale Benefitting Dogs For The Deaf, 22nd Annual
Founded in 1993 by Phyllis Bear of Country Heart Promotions, The Medford Armory Show offers collectors an outstanding selection of quality antiques and collectibles by dealers from five states, including turn-of-the-century oak and walnut furnishings, kitchen and country primitives, Victorian colored and art glass, American art pottery, sterling silver and silverplate flatware and hollowware, estate and costume jewelry, watches, fine porcelains and china, toys and dolls, American folk and Native American art, paper collectibles (including prints, maps, magazines and books), quilts, clothing and textiles, tools, militaria, clocks, antique firearms and sporting. Special services and exhibits will include: Antique Evaluation and identification by Dusty Schmidt ? $5.00 per Item with one free appraisal per paid admission; free doll appraisals and doll restringing while you wait (fee for service) and one-of-a-kind period doll costuming using vintage materials by Nancy Korsak of Nurse Nancy?s Doll Hospital, Spokane, WA. Mountain Stars Quilters Guild, a prominent organization with over 200 members in Southern Oregon and Northern California, will display quilts from the balconies in the Show Room, display and sell tickets for their rare "Breadfruit" quilt (appraised at $4500.00) and demonstrate making quilt blocks. Food service will be available all show hours by We Cook For You, a nonprofit, community service organization providing shelter, meals, and community resources in the Chico, California area. The largest event center in Medford, the Armory is the perfect setting for this popular show. The Medford Armory Show benefits an important local charity, Dogs For the Deaf. Dogs For The Deaf rescues dogs from shelters along with helping people with deafness and other physical and mental challenges. Volunteers from the organization will be present at the Show, giving demonstrations and providing information on their unique and important service to dogs and the disabled community. Twenty percent of the proceeds from admissions as well as 50% of the proceeds from a 50-50 drawing benefits Dogs For The Deaf (winner need not be present to win.) Demonstrations by hearing dogs will take place at 12 noon and 2pm on Saturday and at 1pm on Sunday.
