Barnstormers Theatre Youth Summer Camp

Barnstormers Theatre announces its summer youth theatre camp, "A Mid-Summer Camp's Dream". The camp is a 4-week program, running from July 5th-31th. Campers ages 9-16 will work on a youth production of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" while also learning performance and technical theatre techniques.
 
Madeline DeCourcey returns as the camp director. Joining DeCourcey as a co-instructor for summer camp is the Grants Pass High School Theatre teacher, Justin Hauke. Guest instructor Brianna Gowland will join camp for two weeks to teach movement and choreography classes. Camp will also include workshops alongside the adult cast of Barnstormers' summer production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" directed by Steven Sabel.
 
While receiving in-depth training in acting and performance techniques, campers will also receive training in the technical elements of theatre, such as lighting, sound design, costuming and make-up design. Campers will work together to design and create their own props and set decorations for their production. Parents will witness first-hand the all-inclusive training that their children receive during the final performance, which will take place July 30th- August 1st.
 
Registration Details
Ages: 9-16*
Tuition: $600**
Tuition can be paid in full with registration, or a deposit of $100 can be paid to hold your child's spot in camp. The remainder of tuition is due prior to or on the first day of camp.
Camp is limited to 20 students; early registration is highly recommended.
*An advanced student questionnaire is also available for younger students who are interested in participating in camp who demonstrate prior experience and/or ability.

COVID-19 guidelines will be adhered to: campers will need to wear face coverings throughout camp, temperatures will be taken and screening questions will be asked during check-in at each day of camp. Campers will need to provide their own lunch, snack and refillable water bottle.
