Grants Pass, OR — The Hivve Art Hubb is thrilled to present the “Unsolved Mysteries: Group Exhibition Gallery Reception in Collaboration with the Rogue Writers Collective” at the upcoming First Friday Gallery Exhibition Opening Reception on October 4th, 2024. This event will spotlight the exceptional work of local artists and writers, showcasing a unique blend of visual art and literary pieces inspired by the theme of “Unsolved Mysteries.”
This creatively collaborative exhibit coincides with the city’s popular annual weekend event, Art Along the Rogue, creating a rich cultural experience for the community, and providing an extension of the experience indoors in a gallery setting. Hivve Art Hubb Featured artist Lea Woods will present her signature chalk portraits capturing the “27 Club” musician mystery alongside many other artists interpretations of the theme. Make sure to be there at 7pm for her exclusive Artist Speech covering her exhibit portion! Some of the juried visual artworks were inspired by the submitted Short Stories and the unveiling of the imagery will be a surprise to the authors and patrons alike!
In addition, Sweet Colene Art from The Hivve Art Hubb will be creating live art along with the music on Saturday afternoon and is releasing her original painting series, the UF(uh)Os, for the free community Art Scavenger Hunt at 11 different merchant locations around the city on the day of the Gallery Reception, with the first location being at the Hivve with exhibit attendees getting the first taste of the Art Scavenger Hunt – and meet the artist!
Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy live interviews with local and visiting artists on stage, offering insight into their creative process, inspiration, and unique contributions to the exhibition. These artist spotlights will provide a deeper connection between the audience and the talented individuals shaping Southern Oregon’s art scene.
We also encourage attendees to explore downtown Grants Pass with art strolls to The Glass Forge and other local art entities to experience the vibrant culture of our community. The First Friday event offers a unique opportunity to connect with artists, galleries, and studios around town, supportive merchants, making it the perfect chance to immerse yourself in the thriving local arts scene.
Join us for an evening of music, delicious treats from local sponsors like Rogue Artisan Bread and True Juice Organics, exquisite wine from Apricity Vineyards, and a captivating array of art and literature presented professionally side-by-side for a truly unique cultural experience. Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase literary journals featuring side-by-side exhibitions of writing and visual art and “art merch” directly from the exhibiting artists.
This event is part of The Hivve Art Hubb’s member outreach and fundraising efforts to support its vibrant arts community. Mark your calendars for this free, all-ages event and come meet the talented artists and writers shaping the future of local art in Southern Oregon.
