Hivve Art Hubb
Experience A First Friday Collaboration of Art, Words, and Music
September 5th | The Hivve | 164 SE G St., Grants Pass | 5–8 PM
[Grants Pass, Oregon] — Join us for a special First Friday gallery event on September 5th,
celebrating an inspired collaboration between visual artists from Hivve Art Hubb (HAH) and
writers from the Rogue Writer’s Collective (RWC), with live acoustic music by Brooklyn
Leamons and a literary release party for The Rapids journal.
Earlier this year, HAH artists were invited to submit art that spoke to the theme “The Familiar.”
Writers from RWC then selected one piece each, crafting poems or short stories in response to
the visual narrative. The result is a layered dialogue between image and word, exploring
memory, identity, and the quiet beauty of everyday moments.
A selection of the visual and written works will be published in an upcoming issue of The
Rapids, a regional literary journal. The September 5th event will feature a reveal of the paired
works, and a release party for the latest issue of The Rapids.
Among the featured artists is Michelle McAfee, a portrait and fine art photographer based in
Williams, Oregon, and one of HAH’s founding members. Trained in film and darkroom
photography, McAfee’s monochromatic style captures subtle expressions and patterns in people
and places, reflecting her deep love of nature, light, and mood.
This is more than a gallery show—it’s a celebration of creative synergy, storytelling, and
community.
Free and open to the public. Wine and light snacks provided.
