JOCO COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Event
Josephine County Public Health will be providing COVID-19 vaccinations at two locations in the coming days.
Josephine County, with the support of several partner organizations from throughout the community, will host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic from 12:00pm to 4:00pm January 26th at Illinois Valley High School, 625 E. River St. in Cave Junction.
The clinic is open only to those in Phase 1a, as well as teachers and school staff members serving students pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Find out more about eligibility at http://www.co.josephine.or.us/Page.asp?NavID=2288.
No registration is required for the Illinois Valley High School event. However, participants are asked to complete and print this form and bring it with them to the clinic: http://www.co.josephine.or.us/SIB/files/VAR%20Form.pdf
Those who have had immediate allergic reactions of any severity to food, drug injections or insect stings should not attend these clinics and should contact their primary care provider. As a safety precaution, all those receiving a vaccine should plan for a 15-minute observation period after receiving the shot. This is planned for everyone as a built-in precaution to monitor for any post-vaccination allergic reactions. Medical and public health staff will be on site for all events.
This will not be a drive-through event; intake, vaccination and observation will occur indoors.
The event is expected to go on as planned despite any adverse weather; however, if conditions dictate, events may be delayed and then rescheduled as soon as possible. Participants are advised to check their local weather forecast before attending and plan accordingly, as they may be required to wait in line outdoors.
