"Matilda The Musical" Auditions

One Eleven Theatre Company is excited to bring "Matilda The Musical" to the Grants Pass Performing Arts Center stage in Spring 2023! Auditions will be held next week, on December 5 & 6.
 
One Eleven Theatre Company has brought excellent community theatre productions to Grants Pass since 2008, including Beauty and the Beast, Newsies, and Shrek! "Matilda" promises to be edgy, electrifying, and extravagant! 
 
The show will be directed by Sandra Castle, choreographed by Jocelyn Schmidt, and music directed by Kristin Ryerson! Come join the fun!
 
Individual Audition Dates: (Pick one)

How to Sign Up:
No need to sign up or make a reservation, just show up and you'll be added to the queue! An audition form can be found on our website: https://www.oneeleventheatrecompany.com/auditions
 
Bring to Individual Audition:
- 60 second broadway song and sheet music for the accompanist. (We DO have an accompanist for both audition dates! Sheet music is preferred by the directors over karaoke track.)
- 60 second monologue that shows off your acting abilities.
(NOTE: Please no songs or monologue excerpts from "Matilda!")

"Matilda" will run Mar 31st-April 16th, 2023 at the Grants Pass Performing Arts Center. Rehearsals will run weeknights January-March, 2023.

About Matilda the Musical:
 
MATILDA, originally written by Roald Dahl, is the story of an extraordinary girl who dares to take a stand and change her own destiny.

Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She's unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly loveable Miss Honey. Over the course of her first term at school, Matilda and Miss Honey have a profound effect on each other's lives, as Miss Honey begins not only to recognize but also appreciate Matilda's extraordinary personality. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace!

Packed with high-energy dance numbers, catchy songs and an unforgettable star turn for a young actress, Matilda is a joyous girl power romp. Children and adults alike will be thrilled and delighted by the story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination.
