Job Title          Assistant Manager

Reports To         Operations Manager / General Manager / Owner


Job Purpose

This position is responsible for the overall supervision of the operation during their shift and assigned managerial tasks involved with day-to-day operations of the business. The assistant manager will support the Operations Manager/General Manager/Owner ensuring the highest level of customer service is being provided while following established policies and procedures. The assistant manager will report directly to the Operations Manager/General Manager/Owner.


Duties and Responsibilities

Examples of work performed in the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Maintain positive and enthusiastic interactions with customers and staff
• Work dry cleaning technician or laundry attendant shifts as needed
• Responsible for monitoring the schedules of staff members
• Reconcile daily cash deposits in the absence of the Operations Manager
• Be the expert on the cloud-based Point of Sale system
• Assists the Operations Manager/General Manager/Owner in hiring of staff
• Train new employees on laundromat and dry-cleaning procedures
• Diagnosis of and/or repairs for washer/dryer machines and dry-cleaning equipment
• Assists in monitoring daily revenues and expenses and makes recommendations to the Operations Manager/General Manager/Owner to maximize profitability
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts (opening, closing, weekends)
• Shall maintain frequent and open lines of communication with the Operations Manager/General Manager/Owner
• Other duties as required or assigned by the Operations Manager/General Manager/Owner


Qualifications

Qualifications include:

• High school diploma
• College degree preferred
• Two (2) years or more of customer service experience
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Excellent people skills
• Must have accurate math skills
• Proficiency with computers and repetitive motion
• Knowledge of laundry and/or dry-cleaning operations desirable (or willing to learn)

• Class C Drivers License


Working Conditions

The physical environment requires the employee to work primarily inside, in potentially hot and/or dry conditions.


Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 40 pounds waist high,
Frequent bending, kneeling, and stooping
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
Must be able to fluently speak and write the English language
Normal vision and hearing ranges required
