Parking Enforcement Officer

Are you seeking a profession with a purpose? Do you have the desire to serve and contribute to your community? Join the Police Department as a Parking Enforcement Officer and serve our citizens and businesses by using your strong complaint resolution and compliance monitoring skills.

This position will:

  • Enforce parking ordinances on foot, bicycle or by vehicle in the downtown central business district and throughout the City
  • Issue citations for violations
  • Assist with traffic control
  • Meet with downtown merchants to hear concerns
  • Provide professional customer service to the public
 
This is a 40 hour workweek position with benefits. The proposed work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of customer service or dispute resolution experience is required; some college-level coursework in criminal justice or a related field is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
 
Licensing Requirements (positions in this class require):
  • Oregon Driver’s License – Class C 
  • Law Enforcement Data System Certificate will be required within 90 days of appointment
