About Us
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.
Caveman Kiwanis was established in 1974 and each year club members provide scholarships to students at the four high schools in Josephine County. Bicycle helmets are given to children at the safety fairs and other events. The members supply food and personal items to several of the school closets as well as sponsor Terrific Kids for elementary students, Builder's Clubs for middle school students and Key Clubs for high school students. Members assist with Special Olympics and volunteer at Camp Ruth Hyde and Oregon Hunters Association Outdoor day. You may also see Caveman Kiwanis out early on Saturday mornings putting up or taking down the flags on 6th and 7th streets in Downtown Grants Pass. During the Christmas season the club is responsible for the Nativity Scene at the Welcome Center and sells See's Candies at three locations in Grants Pass. The club members meet on Tuesday mornings at 7:30 am for breakfast at Black Bear Diner.
