We [Common Connections] exist because of the persistence of those who embody the daily active imperative of making our community better for all. Everyone has the ability to help, everyone. Period.

Ultimately, Common Connections is focused on being a catalyst for coordinated solutions. We concentrate on developing programs that bring together specific opportunities and the people who want to put their personal energy toward improving the community.

The issue of inadequate safe housing has been an overwhelming topic for our community. The community has resources, the community has people. The solution is to put them together in a way that helps alleviate this issue. Creatively we bring together the resources, people, and projects to unravel this pervasive challenge.

For three years, until Dec 2023, along with Mid Rogue Foundation, we worked with Josephine County through a Community Development Block Grant with the State of Oregon to bring back the Housing Repair Program for low to moderate-income homeowners. At contract end, we started development of the Community Cottages program (follow the progress at communitycottages.net)

We have also been coordinating processes to help bring the concept of a physical business incubator/makerspace to an implementation stage in Grants Pass and Josephine County with the help of the regional Southern Oregon Innovation Hub.
