About Us
Situated in the heart of Southern Oregon’s Rogue River Valley, Rural Metro Fire Department provides fire protection, rescue and first responder medical services to approximately 250 square miles in Josephine County. Rural Metro’s members are primarily rural residential.
With a combination of seven staffed and satellite stations, and a staff of over 70 talented and dedicated individuals, Rural Metro Fire Department responds to nearly 2000 calls for service each year in Josephine County.
Rural Metro Fire Department is the only private community fire protection provider that is part of the Rogue Valley Fire Chiefs Association's Mutual & Automatic Aid Agreement, having met the high standards required by the fire chiefs of all public fire agencies within Josephine and Jackson County. This gives Rural Metro members access to additional highly skilled fire service personnel and fire equipment from throughout Southern Oregon.
