Josephine County Parks — Public Meeting

The Josephine County Parks Department is holding a public meeting at 10:00 a.m. February 8th at the Anne Basker Auditorium, 600 NW 6th St. in Grants Pass, to discuss the plans for the rebuild of the Tom Pearce Playground.
Josephine County Parks is inviting the public to join in on the conversation and look at the proposed options for the replacement of the decommissioned Tom Pearce Playground. The designs will be provided by Playcraft Systems.
The Tom Pearce Playground was deemed unsafe during an inspection by a park ranger was closed by the Parks Department July 12, 2019. The decommissioned playground has since been removed.
The Grants Pass Kiwanis, the Josephine Parks and Recreation Foundation and the county Parks Department are working together to replace the playground. A new playground is estimated to cost about $150,000, but could easily cost more, depending on the play structure and number of play activities.
Currently, there are no dedicated funds in the Park Department’s budget to replace the playground; however, fundraising efforts have begun to raise money for the build. To make a tax-deductible donation, visit http://JosephineParks.com or mail a check to the Josephine Parks and Recreation Foundation at PO Box 122, Grants Pass, OR 97528.
Anyone interested in being notified of any activities regarding the Tom Pearce Playground is invited to provide their contact information by filling out the form online at http://www.co.josephine.or.us/tompearce
