Help us write the next chapter at an all-hazards agency on the rise. Following the City Council’s approval to fund six new firefighter positions, Grants Pass Fire & Rescue is growing—and we’re looking for service-minded professionals ready to learn, lead, and make a difference.

- Technical Rescue Team (TRT): rope, confined space, elevated and industrial rescues.
- Swift-Water/Marine Operations: Rogue River and local waterways.
- REMS (Rapid Extraction Module Support): integrated with TRT for wildland operations, coming soon.
- EMS Programs & Community Medicine: help close gaps and raise the standard of care.
- Training: protect, educate, and strengthen community resilience.
- Respond to and mitigate all-hazard incidents (emergent and non-emergent).
- Provide BLS/ALS medical care aligned to your EMT certification level.
- Document patient care accurately and professionally.
- Train daily, maintain equipment, and uphold Duty, Excellence, Accountability, and Community.

Application and Written exam: National Testing Network complete and submit your scores to the City of Grants Pass by September 26, 2025
Interviews scheduled (tentative): October 6 and 7, 2025
Tentative hire date is: January 5, 2026.
Minimum Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent and an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and ability to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
- Valid driver’s license, with the ability to attain a Class C Oregon Driver’s License within 30 days of employment
- Valid State of Oregon Emergency Medical Technician License
- NFPA Firefighter 1 certificate at time of hire
The following certifications are preferred at the time of hire and required by completion of the trial service period:
- DPSST Wildland FFT2 Certificate
- NFPA Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator certificate
- IS-700.a and IS-100
