Senior Planner

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in your community? The Community Development Department is seeking a full-time Senior Planner to join our in-office team, working Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
In this key role, you will:

  • Lead and manage complex projects in current planning, comprehensive planning, and housing programs
  • Serve as a technical expert and team lead on specialized planning initiatives
  • Prepare and deliver public presentations to stakeholders and community groups
  • Review and provide feedback on research conducted by junior staff
  • Draft Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for planning and affordable housing initiatives
  • Administer and monitor the City’s Housing Work Plan and Housing Grant Programs
  • Develop and coordinate the City’s long-range planning strategies and housing initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or a related field and four (4) years of progressively responsible professional planning experience including one (1) year of supervisory experience are required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed in the job description.

Licensing Requirements (positions in this class require):
  • Valid driver’s license, Oregon Class C with an acceptable driving record
  • American Institute of Certified Planners certificate preferred
